PRICE STRUCTURE & PAYMENT TERMS 

 

NB!! - There are generally TWO categories of students wishing to undertake and achieve the FIATA diploma. Please See example explanations below, as well as the payment and pricing section for consideration at the bottom of this page.

 

Category A - Potential Learners/Students who have either via the South African TETA (Transport Education Training Authority) undertaken learnerships in the workplace over several years, and achieved the mentioned NQF 3 (Freight forwarding & Customs Compliance Advanced Learnership), NQF 4 (Freight forwarding & Customs Compliance Advanced Learnership) Certificates OR and not limited to any other accredited, equivalent or similar qualifications from other various institutions succh as the NQF 5 Clearing and forwarding Agent.

 

With these above mentioned certificates (as requested by FIATA as a minimum standard admission requirement) as well as a minimum of 4 years Industry experience and finally subject to the GMLS pre assessment questionnaire. The learner or applicant would then be found successful under Category A and may enter the program and then undertake the full FIATA Diploma at NQF level 6.

 

Such a Learner/student who is now undertaking the full FIATA Diploma will be charged R 26,950.00 Excluding VAT.  If the learner is found competent in all the Modular GMLS Exams/Assessments the Learner will then be eligible to receive their FIATA Diploma, therefore a certificate FEE of R 5,445.00 Excluding VAT will be charged for administration fees to FIATA Head Quarters in Zurich.

 

Category B - Potential Learners/Students who have NOT at all had the opportunity to participate via the South African TETA (Transport Education Training Authority) learnerships in the workplace over several years and HAVE NOT achieved the above mentioned SAQA NQF 3 and NQF 4 Certificates. 

They may however have undertaken other studies or training, which may count towards recognition and acceptance as a credit and must communicate all certificates etc received to the GMS registration team. They however (As mentioned) may receive recognition of their life and work skills through a process called RPL (Recognition of Prior learning). GMLS is accredited by TETA to award such qualifications. 

 

Thus, they can do the FIATA Diploma and still complete the SAQA NQF 5 Clearing and Forwarding Agent attain certification for this via the RPL process. This however will be done by conducting an RPL process.

 

From a funding calculation point of view, generally it would have cost such a learner/student, a minimum up to R 38,000.00 for each of the usual NQF 5 clearing and Forwarding Agent Program. 

 

Such a Learner/student now undertaking the RPL process with GMLS, will pay via RPL method R 19,750.00 for the NQF 5 qualifications. 

 

The applicant will then enter the FIATA Diploma programme which will be charged at R 26,950.00 Excluding VAT.  Once the learner is found competent in all the Modular GMLS Exams/Assessments the Learner will then be eligible to receive their FIATA Diploma, therefore a certificate FEE of R 5,445.00 Excluding VAT will be charged for administration fees.

 

PLEASE NOTE: Their Employers will be able to claim income tax rebates (12H) on NQF 5 (Even under RPL) and treat the FIATA Diploma also as training expense in terms of Income Tax. 

 

NB!! GMLS will still conduct a pre assessment to see if we accept the years of Industry experience, which will be at the sole discretion of GMLS. All students who are processed for RPL and revision classes should ideally have a minimum of 5 to 10 years proven industry experience.

The Employer/Client/Student shall be required to pay GMLS, a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the GMLS Tax Invoice, on signed acceptance of proposal. The balance of 50% will be due and payable 2 Months after the course commencement date. 

 

Should the applicant be unable to pay the outstanding 50% Invoice, the applicant will have 5 working days to approach GMLS Accounts Department, as to the reason that the amount has not been paid.  Failure to do so will result in the Learner’s access to the Programme, to immediately be placed on hold. 

 

The learner will remain liable for the Invoice amount plus interest, charged on any outstanding accounts, and will not qualify to receive their FIATA Diploma from FIATA Headquarters, until all amounts owed to GMLS Academy have been paid in full.
