Student/Learner Admission & FIATA Minimum Standards
In order for a student/learner to be considered eligible for admittance to the FIATA 2020/2021 programme, the potential students, are required, according, to SAAFF, to have at least completed the SAQA NQF 3 NC: Freight Forwarding & Customs Compliance - (Advanced Learnership – 174 credits), and the NQF 4 FETC: Freight Forwarding & Customs Compliance (Advanced Learnership – 178 credits), or similar equivalent qualifications. They should also provide details of all other qualifications attained for the purposes of evaluation and admittance. In conjunction with SAAFF Guidelines, applicants must also have at least 4 to 10 years working experience in the Freight Forwarding Industry or International Trade and Supply Chain Sectors. GMLS requires a fully detailed CV from each applicant and will assess same in conjunction with the criteria of the minimum standards and the workplace experience demonstrated by the applicant/student.
NB!! Please note that prospective students, who do not have the SAQA NQF or other qualifications mentioned above, however, who have, been in the Industry for many, many years, may still be awarded those Qualifications, via a process called “RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING” (RPL). GMLS is an accredited RPL assessor. GMLS will provides a RPL offer in this programme and this will be reflected in the pricing structure.
