COURSE INFORMATION 

 

GMLS is currently the ONLY FIATA Validated Training Provider in SACU authorised to deliver the FIATA Diploma Qualifications. GMLS has successfully facilitated over 200 FIATA intakes since 2012, inclusive of Namibia, in conjunction and under custodianship of  The Walvis Bay Corridor Group. The South African Association of Freight Forwarders (SAAFF) and The Namibia Logistics Association (NLA), who are both FIATA National Member Industry Associations). Of exciting relevance is the adoption of Namibia as an esteemed association member in the global FIATA Congress held in Brussels, Belgium in 2023.


The FIATA Diploma Curriculum consists of the following 14 Modules and will be assessed at a minimum NQF level of 6.

DELIVERY METHODOLOGY & CRITERIA 

 

The FIATA Diploma Modules will be delivered within the 2025 Programme, utilising a variety of methodologies, LMS, Virtual, Face to Face etc. The Course Programme will commence MID June 2025. 

A Virtual or Face to Face Session will take place, every 2 weeks via Webinar or in class and recording of all lectures are available in the LMS. A scheduled Calendar & Programme Schedule will be sent to Students at the commencement of each Semester to assist with preparationplanning, and conclusion.

  • Preparation for FIATA Modular Examinations.  There will be 10 - 12 Modular Exams, instead of “a once-off” Exam.   Exams will be conducted electronically via the GMLS LMS. Students with a valid IATA Dangerous Goods Certificate will be exempted from the Dangerous Goods Module, however, they must provide evidence of such Certificate. On application to be admitted to the course all prospective students must provide the required registration documentation, being proof of identity, Curriculum Vitae, Registration form, all qualifications attained, and pre-assessment documents.

 

GMLS will present the On-line Virtual Classroom (Learning Management System) for the duration of the Course. Through this “easy-to-use” interface, Students will have access to a diverse variety of Course content formats, including interactive video lectures, Module Notes, Practice Quizzes, Podcasts, Assignment briefs, additional Web Resources, E-Learning Modules, as well as Live interactive Webinars and recordings.
